Please use the attendance email or call 507-562-6100 to report your students’ absence.Â
The attendance of your students is very important to us here at Pipestone Area Schools. In order for us to have the opportunity to provide an education to them, we need to have your student at school.
If your student is going to be late to school or gone from school, please let us know. The best and preferred way to inform us is to email the attendance. Please indicate your student’s name, grade level, and the reason and duration for their absence when emailing. You may also call the attendance line at (507) 562-6100 and leave a message with the stated information. The contact needs to come from a parent/guardian, not a sibling or other relative.
There is a computer in the HS/MS office that students MUST use to log out and log in from school. This computer helps us know when and why students are in and out of the building. If a child is sick in the nurse’s office and is sent home, they need to sign out on the computer. All students going home ill MUST notify the nurse and get a pass from her to leave.
When students are returning from medical appointments, please provide medical documentation from the provider upon their return to school.
Advance makeup slips may be requested prior to an extended absence at the HS/MS office. A parent/guardian must notify the office of the request. The purpose of an advance makeup slip is to make teachers aware of a student’s absence and to allow the necessary time to get schoolwork prepared for students before leaving. They are not required but are highly recommended.
If your child will be leaving for a school-related activity (sports/band/FFA, etc..) there is no need for a note from a parent/guardian. Teachers will inform the attendance secretary to ensure that their absences are excused.
Thank you for taking the necessary steps to help us follow our attendance process.
