Summer Meal Program

Summer Meal Program

Learning does not end when school lets out. Neither does the need for good nutrition.

The Pipestone Area School District is working to make sure that no children in our school district go hungry when school is closed this summer.  Once again, we will provide meals to all children 18 years and younger, free of charge, and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.  There will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.  Meals will be provided on a first come, first serve basis.

The Food Service Department will be starting our free summer meals program on June 13 and will run through August 4.  There will be no meals served July 4 and 5.

This year we are returning to congregate meal style.  This means the children will be served meals which they will eat at the location.  We will no longer provide the "to-go" bags as we have done the past 2 years. Per USDA regulations, all food must be consumed on site.
