The Arrows started out the season with a big win against Tracy-Milroy-Balaton/WWG 41-25. We won 9 out of the 14 matches, we gave up two forfeits. We then took that right into a titl defense at the Flandreau Invitational. We came away with four champions, Jadon Evans @ 145 recorded a fall in the finals, Dylan Kor @ 171 recorded a fall in the finals, Tyler Evans @189 beat #2 Ranked SD kid 10 -9, and Jon Gorter @215 he had 11 take downs in his match. 2nd. Place Cole Nordmeyer @ 125, Mitchell Ryan @ 140, Josh Stangeland @171. It was a good day.

Sorry that I haven't update for a few weeks.
The Arrows have had so many huge thing happen to them over the past couple of weeks.

J cubed (John, Jadon,Jon) headed off for the State Tourney last week hoping to bring back some hardware, its been 12 years since Dustin Darveaux placed for the Arrows. Bush had a great match in the first round, he snuck around for a takedown but couldn't maintain control and got pinned. He had a wrestleback but came up short slipping a headlock to give up 2. Jadon lost his match 6-1 and didn't get to wrestle back. Jon Gorter broke the seal that has kept us off of the podium for 12 years by finishing second. He had a great state tourney in which he beat the #1 ranked wrestler in the final seconds to advance to the finals. He was behind 3-1 with 10sec. left, he stood up and shot a takedown to score with zeros on the clock. It was insane.

State Qualifiers 2010State Qualifiers and Coaches

At individual sections we placed 10 wrestlers, 6th. place were Elijah Everson at 103, Walker Kor @125, and Dustin Hachmann @ 152, 4th. Place Brady Bos @ 119, 3rd. Place was Brandan Alfson @ 160, Dylan Kor @ 171, and Tyler Evans @ 189, 2nd. Place and State Qualifiers John Bush @ 112, Jadon Evans @ 145, and Jon Gorter @ 215.
Dlyan lost a true second match, he was ahead 3-1 going into the 3rd. period and got cradled, but still had a chance as he escaped but gave up a takedown with just a few seconds left. Brandan needed a win from Minneota to get a true second match, but the kid got taken down with 6 seconds left and lost by one.

We made it to the final four in the team section, we hosted YME in a rematch and destroyed them. I think the crowd that watch the meet was the loudest in the history of the new school. The boys couldn't even hear me, if you can believe that.

We had a huge dual with YME on Tuesday, winner would get a home dual for team sections. We beat them 36-29, and now we host them on Thursday Feb. 18th. should be another great dual.

Section Team
The last Tourney before sections was at Martin County west. We finish in fourth place. John Bush won at 112, Brady Bos, Jadon Evans, Dylan Kor, Tyler Evans, and Jon Gorter all finished second.

We picked up 4 dual wins during the past couple of weeks, Swept a tri agaist Luverne and Marshall and then went 2-1 in a quad in Clear Lake, SD. The Highlight of the night was John Bush recording his 100th. win!! Great Job John!! That put three 100 match winners in the same line-up, Very rare I'm guessing.

Well the Arrow defeated Wortington on Tuesday 42-32. Jadon Evans recorded his 100th. win and 50th. fall all at the same time. GREAT JOB TONK!!!!! The JV remained undefeated, but needed to pin in the last two matches and they did. The meet was web casted and will be archive on the schools web site if you want to watch it. We also inducted John Facile into the Arrow Wrestling Hall Of Fame,he was a former Jasper Wrestler, but part of "Pipestone Area" glad to have him. What a great career he had. 127-23 and Jaspers only State place winner.

We Headed off to Tri-Valley last Saturday with 5 starters out of the line-up for various reasons, but we managed to finish in sixth place ONLY 32 points out of first place. With a full line-up there is no doubt in my mind that we would have won the tourney by 30 points. We had no champs, 3 2nds John Bush, Brady Bos and Dustin Hachmann. 3rds. Jadon Evans and Dylan Kor. 4th. was Tyler Evans. Jr. High went to Canton with 7 wrestlers and had four champs.

We split our Triangular with Windom and Redwood, We thumped Redwood and Windom thumped us. JV won both Duals to remain undefeated.
JV and Jr. High had a tourney in Dell Rapids on Monday and destroyed the competition champs were Jordan Whipple, Broderick Everson, Alex Ossefoort, Jared Nygaard, Josh Stangeland, Matt Haraldson, Jaydon Gorter, Jared Hillard, Mark Dunn, and Brandon Baker.

Our meet with Worthington has been changed to 1-19-10, But we hit the mats on Saturday at the 4th. annual Pipestone Invitational. We finished in second behind Wabasso/Red Rock Central. We came away with 3 champions, Jadon Evans, Brandan Alfson, and Jon Gorter. In second place was John Bush, Nathan Dubbelde, and Dylan Kor, Third place finishers were Walker Kor, Cole Nordmeyer, and Dustin Hachman.

We came out on all cylinders against Dell Rapids, we thumped them 46-17. We didn't give up a pin and the matches we lost we wrestled very well, a great way to head into break.
The Arrows came up just a little short at the DB/LQPV Tourney. We finished in second place 26 points behind DB/LQPV

We dispensed of Fulda/MCC winning 11 matches. "B" squad won 19-12

The Arrows suffered a tough loss at Jackson, but they won 6 out of the 14 matches. "B" Squad thumped the Huskies 78-30
